can someone explain why the fuck i have to search for helvetica instead of it being standard? what is this bullshit sorcery?
It’s because Microsoft developed Arial as a Helvetica look-alike that they wouldn’t have to pay licencing fees on.
Now, why fonts are so fucking expensive to use, I don’t know… the fact that they want people to pay $50 per weight (reaching in to the thousands for a font like Helvetica) is utterly ludicrous.
Because Fonts, along with Software in general, is still marketed towards big businesses as opposed to actual users still. :V
